Shirley Sabin Bunker Starr 1929 ~ 2010 Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend left this life September 4th, 2010 in Mapleton, Utah.She was born July 11, 1929 to Robert and Anna Irene Sabin in Deming, New Mexico.

She married her long-lost sweetheart 13 years ago and cherished those years with Gene. Shirley is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and leaves behind a legacy of love and service, including two full time missions. Shirley will be remembered for her quick wit, love of learning, and grace (on and off the dance floor). Her example of patience and kindness helped us all reach a little higher. We miss the warmth and tenderness of her soul.

She is survived by husband Karl Eugene Starr, and her brothers: Robert Sabin (Kathleen) and Floyd Sabin (Judy). She was preceded in death by sister Anilee Dunlap and son David Bunker. She has six children: David Bunker, Philip Bunker (Jane), Diane Whitaker(Ryan), Laurel Simonsen (Greg), Janet Ballif (Joe), Leah Bowthorpe (Kelly); step children: Catherine Giambatista (Dave), Sandra Kolstad (Gary), Steven Starr (Tammie), Darryl Starr (Moonja), Ivan Starr (Jaelene), Carolyn Thompson (Joe), Clinton Starr (Rhonda); 48 grandchildren and 40 + great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m at the Mapleton 13th Ward Chapel (970 N. 400 E. Mapleton, Utah). Viewing held at 9:30 a.m. prior to funeral. Sincere love and thanks to all Medical, Hospice, Assisted-living staff and ward members who gave much love and tenderness to mom and Gene these past months.
